La Truite Dorée ... The ideal starting point for many hikes and excursions
By staying at La Truite Dorée, you are in the Lot valley, in the heart of the Causses Regional Natural Park. Classified as a Grand Site d'Occitanie with its vineyards, villages and grandiose landscapes, the Lot valley offers remarkable panoramas made of circuses, cliffs, as well as the meanders of the Lot ... Alternatively the causses and valleys punctuate the landscape whose singularity invites contemplation and rejuvenation.
The time of a stopover for the night or of a stay, the amateurs of pretty excursions appreciate the geographical situation of the Truite Dorée, at the intersection of the GR 46 and the GR 36 with the possibility of going towards the very picturesque medieval village of Saint-Cirq-Lapopie on the side of a cliff (20km) or towards Cahors with its Pont Valentré and its vineyard (15 km).
From the hotel, two very pleasant little walks:
- The Gallo-Roman Aqueduct, located above the village, rises to a height of 9 m over a distance of 27 m, still supported by a solid wall backing onto the cliff.
- The Chateau des Anglais, conceals a cave closed by a shelter under the rock, which at the time allowed the local population to shelter in the event of an enemy attack.
Further on, by car, you can reach Figeac, classified City of Art and History (45km) and the famous Rocamadour site which is only 50km away.
